Hello everyone. this is Forrest Allen writing my first blog post that i have written by myself with help from tami. i am typing this all by myself. I would like to tell you all about my weekend. this past friday, my brother Austin arrived from Hawaii for a visit. i got to ride in our van and surprised him at the airport. it was enjoyable to see him again at such a public place and i got out of our van and gave him a big hug. Austin has not been home since January, so it is good to have him here for a visit. that saturday was goldcup races i went and they were enjoyable and fun races. i saw lots of people i knew from other places it was fun to be there with austin and the rest of my family. my weekend nurse Alpha was there to help me with my memory stuff. he helps to keep me safe as well.
that sunday i went to my voice recital and did a show there it was lots of fun. I was one of the 28 performers for the show and i sang "go the distance" with my music therapist Tom. this song is a favorite to Austin it was very special that he was there to see me perform that song. here is a youtube link to a video of my performance of that song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFWMsPL6kLQ
i am looking forward to spending another few days with Austin before he leaves and goes to hawaii again. thanks to the people who are supporting me with my challenges and difficult tasks that i am facing and overcoming.
From,
Forrest

Forrest, you are an extraordinary young man with great courage. Your recovery has been nothing short of miraculous and I doubt that very many among the rest of us could have managed it. I wish you all the best as you continue on your road to a full and rewarding life. You are an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Doug (a friend of your Aunt Lobie.)

ReplyDeleteForrest,
ReplyDeleteI am a friend of one of your close friends. I had only met you once in passing while you were at Mercersburg before your accident and always heard stories about the light you brought into people's lives (from this blog i can see you continue to do so). Every since your accident i was captivated by your story and have quietly followed your progress through these past years. Your blog is saved in my favorites and i make it a point to check on how you are doing every odd week or so. This update is uplifting, I am happy to see you are making strides in recovery and wish you the best in facing whatever obstacle life throws at you next.
Think of me as another member of Team Forrest, pulling for you, silently keeping you in my prayers, hoping one day your body will allow you to physically express the kindness that lives spirited deep within your soul.
Best wishes,
M

Wow wow wow!!!! Forrest, I was blown away by the video of you singing on a gorgeous May day. I bet Austin loved it that you chose that song. He is an awesome brother. So are you. Everything I see you, or read about you, you are doing something new. It's extraordinary. I hope you'll post the video of you taking shots on goal with keeper Sundance soon, too! That was incredible to see. All of Princeton Lacrosse is cheering for you, buddy. Thank you for wearing the t-shirt that they sent to you and for cheering them on, too.
ReplyDeleteLastly, I love hearing your "voice" on the blog. I got a chill when I saw that you had written. I can really see where this story is going, Forrest. And you're going to be the one telling it.

Hello Forrest, I am glad to hear about your amazing growth. I am Brad Nellis, I am in Mr. Wrights 3rd block class but was out the day you visited. I was on a trip of a life time with my mom to Israel and Palestine. I was disappointed to hear I had missed your visit when I returned to school on the 6th. I am back now and Mr. Wright informed me that you will be returning for another visit next week. I can't wait to meet you. Brad Nellis.
