Update: 10:45pm on 2/3

Forrest left Charlottesville and his friends at UVA and then flew to Atlanta and entered the world of Shepherd Center today. It was a long day but had some great moments. He got to see Dr.Grasse and Dea in Neuro ICU one more time. His transfer from the ambulance to the jet air ambulance was cold but he was more comfortable once he was up in the air. He started playing games with Herbert and would hide his ball in Herberts pocket and then threw the ball at him when Herbert asked him to, surprising us all.

He transferred to another ambulance in Atlanta and then arrived at Shepherd's Center. My cousin Ted was in town and greeted us at the entrance. He then went into ICU in Shepherd and began a series of tests to establish his baseline here. Rae and I moved into the adjoining apartments and enjoyed a quick meal before going back to see Forrest off to bed. We look forward to him being comfortable and starting his rehabilitation. We will keep you posted, but the bottom line is he got here safely and they are going to help him find his way back. Aunt Trish and Austin are driving down from VA.

  1. What an amazing journey for you all! We were sending our support aloft all day to help lift the plane's wings and everyone's spirits as you soared to Atlanta. We love hearing about the ball game that Forrest played in the plane. We know that today was the beginning of a new chapter towards perfect health. We love you all!

  2. So glad to hear he got there safe!
It was a mixed feelings when I heared he left VA to Atlanta, it seems he is farther away, but for good reasons he transferred so that is a good thing. The pictures are very cool but at the same time very emotional for me to see you and Rae. I am a parent now and i know how it is to worry about our kids. You all are in our thoughts and prayers everyday.

    Healing
God is active in me now. I am whole and well.
Another day has come for me to live and let my light shine. With every breath, the healing power of God moves in me. Regardless of any appearance of disease or disorder, the truth remains: Illness has no lasting power. Health is my true nature.

Every cell of my body responds to my love and appreciation. Divine intelligence directs the healing process. With every heartbeat, light, love and wholeness fill my mind and body. I now claim my total well-being.

In gratitude, I am assured that every organ functions in accordance with God's perfect design. I am assured that health and wholeness are expressing in, through and as me now.

If then your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays.--Luke 11:36

    We love & miss you!

  9. Forrest,
My name is Ashley and I am a good friend of your sweet cousin, Kelly. Just wanted to let you know that there are about 20 ladies in the Murfreesboro, TN area praying for you this week. We are in a Bible study currently focusing on the life of David. I will be praying that just as God gave David the strength to defeat Goliath, that you will be given the strength to heal and recover.

  11. We are so happy to hear you are there at Shepard, safe and ready for the new chapter of healing and recovery. I am looking into a center near you in Atlanta that offers equine assisted therapy. I will pass the info onto your mom and dad when I know more... You know how magical horses are and maybe they could play an important role in helping you regain your strength... I am a big believer and have seen incredible things happen for our clients with TBI so i want to share this possibility with you... I hope to visit you at the end of the month in Atlanta and will bring info about riding therapy after I visit the program... Meanwhile, we are sending you strength for your journey...
