Prayer Service for Forrest

There will be a prayer service for Forrest Allen and his family on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 6:00pm at Trinity Church in Uppervile, Virginia. Directions are available on the church website

If you are not able to attend the service in person, please consider saying a prayer or lighting a candle at 6:00pm tomorrow night. It would be great to have people from all across the country participate in this collective moment of celebration and goodwill for Forrest.

  1. I am thankful that we have such beautiful churches in our area to gather and comfort our friends. Rae, your words to OCH were so beautiful...I don't know why these things have happened to the nicest families in OCH...if we didn't know before, we know now, we are a very strong group of very caring individuals.

  4. Hi Forrest - I heard you had a little accident and have a few boo boo's. I went scuba diving today and it reminded me off your family vacation here, when I taught you, your mom and dad to dive. I remember how easy it was for you and you kept telling your dad to hurry up and catch up with you under water - I think you have gills!
You sure have grown up all tall and handsome since I saw you last. But I bet you are still a little fish under water!
The turtles and sharks want to know when you are coming back for a visit! So rest up, get well and get your gills back down here.
All the best to you, your brother and mom and dad!
    (((hugs))) Melinda

  5. I just wanted to say that my whole family checks the blog daily to see how Forrest is doing. We all know everything will work out in time, and we will all be there tomorrow at the church. I wanted to tell you that I went in to Danks yesterday and Maria the lady that owns it ran out from behind the counter to ask me "how is doctor Allen's son doing?" I told her about the blog but she wanted me to let you know that she sends her love and prayers. There are so many people in Middleburg that are praying for you.

  7. Forrest,

Even though you have only been at Highland since September, your easygoing affability and generosity of spirit have already made an impression on us all. I've been following this blog daily and see that you are surrounded by family members who are with you every moment. Between family and doctors, you have assembled a impressive Team Forrest down there! Although we can't stand by your bed yet, please know that we are with you every day, all the way. You are in our thoughts, our prayers, and our daily conversations.

  8. 2D and 3D design classes are working on making pop up cards for you. It is taking a while because we want them to be good. All the kids are thinking of you every day.

  9. How ironic...Mercersburg Academy is having a candlelight dinner tonight at 6 pm. It just happens to coincide with a Green Cup Challenge.
