Update: 7:30pm on 1/16

Forrest is resting quietly tonight. His vital signs all remain stable and he just looks more comfortable to us. He has a big ol' white surgical bandage around his head and more tubes coming and going than seem possible. But the nurses and doctors seem less tense which is encouraging to all of us. He is doing his part, just resting, or as Forrest would say "chill'n", and giving himself time to heal. We take turns holding his hand, recounting "Forrest stories",  and reading your messages to him.

Thanks again for all your love & support. It means more than you can imagine to all of us.
Rae & Kent

  2. Tell Forrest that I'll take him to Legoland again, like I did when he was four years old :), as soon as he can get to California. They have lots of cool stuff for big kids, too, including a Raptor Splash ride and new Star Wars exhibits with life-size replicas of many of the famous characters.
We're thinking of you all every minute and appreciate the updates. Take care of yourselves, too, and try to get some rest.
    Love,
    Diane and Jay

  4. Nice job of resting up Forrest. Teenagers are good at that. I wish I was there to hold your hand too and tell you how impressed I was with you during our visit in November. Guess this is going to slow you down a bit, but your upbeat spirit will bounce back sooner than the Drs. expect. Can't keep you down! Our church is praying too and Uncle Ron did a special request for you at the beginning of his sermon today. Not too many people get top billing like that! Love you all. Aunt Lynn

  7. Dear Rae and Kent,

My thoughts are with Forrest and your family.

Forrest, I know you are going to be feeling much better soon, and I hope to see you at Hill School. You always make me laugh -- I remember when you told me the biggest positive change in your progress as a student was when your parents told you you couldn't use your X-Box until your average reached a certain point. Somehow, no one taught me that particularly effective strategy in my education program. We are all sending you positive energy -- heal fast and strong.

  14. Hello Kent, Rae, and Austin...
Hello Forrest.....I seem to be thinking of nothing but you the last few days. You know I love my handsome, young Forrest. You are getting to sleep late and I know how much you love that. Just try to relax and know that God is watching over you and your family. I think most of Bolivar is praying for you too! They look at your picture and say how handsome you are. Get well sweetie and do mind those doctors. I love you lots. Grandmom Allen

  15. To Rae, Kent & Austin,

You all are in my thoughts & prayers. Glad he is chillin' but we know he didn't do that for long so he will be moving forward soon!

    To Forrest,

I'm hearing you have had a bit of a setback, but we both know that those never lasted too long! So pause, rest & think for a few to quote you. I have every confidence given your quick mind & all your special tutoring, that you will come up with a winning strategy for getting well!

All my love & hugs, Ms. Leins;/

Just heard about Forrest's accident. Wanted to let you know that your Bridger cousins and their families have Forrest in their prayers. Love you guys so much. How does so much time go by without us hearing from each other? Forrest... you rest easy and get that strength up. There are family you don't even know out here in Oklahoma, Chicago, Dallas, Arkansas, Florida, Boston and Kansas City that are praying for you -- not to mention about a hundred of my Facebook friends and my ladies bible study! Feel the love and heal ....
