Update: 4:00pm on 1/17

Forrest continues in a holding pattern today. His vitals look good and he continues to rest and heal. It is likely that this will be the trend for the next several days -- attempts to lower his medications to wake him up will not start until later in the week.

We are reading him all the blogs comments and stringing his room with cards, pictures, and notes. Thanks as always for your love and support. Kent and Rae think that is will be easier to collect cards at their hotel and bring them over so please send to the Marriott address on the sidebar on the blog.

Here's a quick picture of his room today:

  1. The room looks like a message of love which is what we are all sending. I've had calls from so many family members checking on you. We all care...about all of you. Blessings on you good caretakers also. Aunt Lynn and Uncle Ron

  4. Dear Rae and Kent, Owen, Chloe and I (and the rest of our family) are continuing to lift you and Forrest up in prayer. We are touched by the outpouring of love and support shown on this blog. There are so many people near and far who love and care for you and especially for Forrest and are sending prayers of healing to him now. I am so excited to see how this touches the lives of so many in such a positive way. May you rest in knowing each of you is loved and cared for in such an amazing way. Owen especially sends love and best wishes and prayers to Forrest and Chloe of course says she's thinking of all of you and sends love and best wishes to Austin.

  5. My father in law and I were skiing behind Forrest and Peyton when the accident occurred. He’s been in our thoughts and prayers. I’ve been getting updates from Peyton and he directed me to the blog. Appears he is getting the best medical care and is surrounded by family.

We wish him a speedy recovery.

    Chris.

  6. Dear "Bosque" (your name in Spanish class),
I've been thinking of you. I think your idea from last Thursday to have tango lessons in class, is really great. I need you to get better soon so you can be part of it. I promise that as soon as you are back in class we'll have tango lessons and a fiesta! We'll miss you this week but we are confident that you'll be back in no time.
    Hasta pronto amigo,
    Sra. Ruckman,your Spanish... y maestra favorita :)

  7. Hello family and friends of Forrest. I'm looking over this blog on a daily basis. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Forrest and Austin during my internship in the summer of 09. I remember recalling all of the hilarious things Forrest would do or say and the amount of hardwork that he would put in. He had such an incredibly positive mood every single day he came in that it made even those rough days easier to get through. I'll never forget trying to take you boys surfing on that horribly flat day in Kona. It was ridiculous! Remember those HUGE boards that you guys rented?! So much fun! Or blowing all those bubbles with the babies...who probably aren't even babies anymore! I remember a year or so later, I had a random dream that there was panda bears in my backyard and I was thinking "How do I get these out of here!?" and out of no where Forrest pops up and he's like I GOT THIS! I remember waking up and facebooking him and telling him how random it was that I had a dream about him chasing pandas out of my backyard...

Anyway...my thoughts and prayers are with you guys and I'm sending positive thoughts to him for a speedy recovery. Forrest, I'm moving back to Oahu on Friday, so you need to get better so I can take you and your brother surfing again!

    Much love,

    Bree Saylor

  8. Forrest,

We're chill'n at our favorite aunt's house and we've been squawking about you. Loved seeing you on the move, your cheerful room, and all the fun pictures of your exciting life. We expect you'll be flyin' the coop real soon. We're still flippin' our feathers, crossing our claws, and doin' the "Get Well Soon" dance.
We love and miss you and can't wait to see you again. p.s. don't forget the peanut butter...or pistachios

    Lots of love,
