Update: 9:15pm on 1/30

Forrest's day started with a shave by his mom, followed by visits from some close friends and then a visit from a Therapy Dog named Corey.

Forrest was tired by the end of the day, but it was great to see him with his friends.

Visit from Sara
Visit from Peyton
Visit from Nick

The therapy dog was also a wonderful boost to all staff and patients on the Neuro ICU floor. Apparently never had a therapy dog visit dog before! We are breaking new ground every day.

We continue to be awed by all the support  from around the world by friends, family, and strangers.

  1. Forrest,

You look great! Nice to see such a sweet picture of you with your mom. And loved the pictures of you with Sarah, Peyton & Nick and to think there are hundreds if not thousands of people from all over the world waiting to see you and hear from you and read about you. Each day we log on to see the latest "Forrest News" and each time there's a post we jump for joy here in our home and thank God that he is so tenderly guiding you back. Be strong and patient and know that he walks before you and beside you and when you are weak he will carry you. Praying for your continued healing. Sending love from Donna, Owen, Chloe, Lilli & Rich...

  2. Forrest,
I'm glad you had a chance to visit with your friends and with that sweet dog!
I bet Sundance would really enjoy seeing the patients on your floor as well as spending time with you.
Each day brings us better and better news about your recovery. Kathy

  5. Forrest: we are so happy to see your handsome, smiling face, and to see you with your gorgeous, loving mom and your dearest friends.
The cool hat will surely become the latest trend!

We're so glad the therapy dog got to visit- we all know what dogs can do for our soul! Sajen has his therapy dog license so we have seen first hand the amazing effect he can have, not just as Caroline's sidekick, best bud and pool belly-flopper. I am sure Sundance can't wait to lick you soon.

We are so proud of how hard you are working to get back to the "Landmark 'hood". Every minute of every day and night, you are healing, getting stronger, coming back to your family and friends. Slow and steady with confidence. We think of you and your family constantly, and are rooting for your full recovery.

Remember, with every minute that passes, you are getting better.

    love,
Carina, Caroline, Dean, Kaki, Christina and Sajen (Elgin)

  7. Great news, that is a big day!! Wonderful that Forrest's friends were able to come visit. And so glad to see you were able to get a therapy dog in there. I was thinking last week about a dog visit - Maybe Sundance can come one day too. I know he misses his buddy. When my dad was sick many years ago, in the hospital ICU for weeks, I asked the hospital to let us bring our Lab Halle to come and visit him. He was depressed, and so was she, not understanding where he was. Similarly, they had never had that request, but thought, can't hurt! It was amazing. It changed his whole attitude reconnecting with that human animal bond. We are keeping Forrest and the whole family in our prayers for continued strength through this process. XO, Laurie

  8. Forrest it's so great to look into your eyes. Your strength is evident. The support around you is clear, know this will continue and build throughout your journey. We enjoyed the silent, glowing expression of your therapy dog- what a large spirit! Embrace and follow all the love surrounding you.
And the next time you get a four legged furry creature bedside... throw the neoprene ball! :)
